Serial Number Question??

I think that it's because it assures authenticity primarily.
That could be it, or it could be the generation's that are represented by the seriel numbers that can show the development of oakley design with the lower seriel numbers. I guess it all depends on the buyer and why they are looking for a seriel number lol.

I think it is more for collectability.

Oh okay. I guess that's not a very hard concept to grasp being a collector myself... just not of Oakleys at the moment.

Okay got it. But correct me if I'm wrong about what I know: serial numbers always guarantees authenticity, but isn't always required for frames to be authentic?

Given the prices of some frames, there's almost always a huge price difference between serialized and non-serialized versions. If it means saving $100 or more, I think I'll be okay with non-serialized frames, as long as they're authentic and in decent shape.
