Sold in place of price

After an item has been sold on an exchange thread, I see that the OP usually changes where the price was to "sold."

Could anyone give me some insight into why sellers do this? There's probably a very sensible reason to this practice, but it definitely makes it tougher to pick up on market trends and prices.

I think it's ridiculous to place sold in place of the price. But people are just like that.

People get emails later as they see a price still so when they put sold it removes it and cuts down emails after a item is sold

Could always put SOLD before the price.

Yeah this also frustrates me. Especially now that I'm trying to sell. I'll look back on threads to find prices only to be price blocked by the "SOLD"

I get both side but yes I ******* hate changing to "SOLD"
