As we all know (or should), the clear 4.0 display stands are notorious for causing damage to the inside of lenses. Personally, I have about 4 stands but haven’t used them because I didn’t want my lenses damaged, however, I believe I found a solution that will bring peace of mind when displaying your glasses on them.
I took the soft side of Velcro and cut long strips. Then with the opposite (sticky) side of the Velcro, I attached it to the area that has the ability to touch the inside lenses so that if the lenses touch the stand, the Velcro creates a soft cushion that won’t scratch the lenses. I tested to make sure the Velcro wouldn’t cause scratches by rubbing it vigorously against a beater lens and I could not see any damage caused.
