I would say the clearcoat over copper gives it a slightly shinier look and most likely keeps it from oxidizing

The juliet has matte clear so it is duller compared to the raw copper. But gloss clear it would be shinier. Putting clear on does kill the look of actually being metal a little tho.

Rust finish on these juliets. Came out a bit different than usual. Darker with some black spots/areas.

The black spots adds a burnt/charred look. Very cool
