Hello all! Just got a Gearbox I bought off the bay. It appears to be in great condition. Possibly never worn. One slight issue. I see some yellow flakes floating inside the watch. There a large sliver at 9 o’clock. A small one at 2 o’clock. And one at three. I shook it a bit and the one at three moved. Not sure if it’s worth opening up to try to clean it out.

Yes it def is worth while. That would bother me.
Go to your jeweler and have them clean it out

I don’t have a jeweler. I just started getting into the Oakley watch scene very recently. I can do battery swaps but haven’t had to mess with removing movements (although willing to learn).

Can anyone recommend a jeweler in Orange County/ South LA area?

I’ll spend tons of dough on nice stuff but am too cheap to pay a jeweler to swap a battery. Haha.

It’s part of what I love about Oakley’s. Being able to take it apart and work on it. Whether it’s x metals or watches.

for sure, you cant know how to solve something without trying. Plus some of these shops charge 30 dollars for a battery swap without water testing them. What bogus services lol
