Stripped Penny hinge screw: Update

Ti doesnt have a huge weight difference to steel, its strength and yeild that makes it superior.

Commercial grade (nearly pure) Ti has a tensile strength about the same as common steels, but is less dense.

But that statement's a little misleading because it's not really apples-to-apples; Ti is an element while steel is an alloy.

Once you start comparing alloy-to-alloy i.e. Ti alloys to steel, it really depends on which specific alloy is in the comparison.

For example, Ti alloy "Beta C" (Ti-3Al-8V-6Cr-4Mo-4Zr) has a tensile strength over three times that of common steels.

Which Ti alloy is x-metal? Again, dunno...

Is there a possible avenue that could bond this alloy? Or is it necessary to know the exact composition?
Duct tape? lol, I think that portion is pretty much hosed. Could always use the rest for parts (or find a replacement part for that section.) Could be tough to find...
