The Future Of Oakley?

Seems gimmicky like Google Glasses or whatever they are called. I just don't see those or even the Google Glasses taking off.
The Google glasses are far less intrusive or obstructive and if they die it's because Google banned their use by the porn industry. Much like Blue-Ray versus HD DVD and Betamax versus VHS. Their adoption to a platform literally made industries while killing other formats. As far as the Recon, it will be largely in part to organizations like UCI allowing their future use in competition and the price point coming down with a more refined looking product.

Price/technology I guess? At $500 a pair, I don't see the average person buying them. I guess if they came way down, people would be more interested but even then, I just have a hard time thinking something like that would take off unless you have money to burn or like you said, the hardcore athlete.
People pay $100 for the Nike Fuel Band. It isn't that unusual to think that some people would pay $500 for something like this.

With the prices of road bikes hitting $10000 and more it's an excessive amount of money.

That was my first thought when I saw it. I don't doubt people will buy it, just time will tell how well it takes off.

True. Although I don't bike, I know it's an expensive hobby. This will appeal to the hardcore bikers.
