My office has been super quiet this morning so I thought I'd go on a expedition in the USPTO patent & patent application records. Guess what - there is cool Oakley stuff in there.

Aside from the historical significance and very cool patent drawings (x-metals, plate, c-six hinge, etc)...

It's a great way to see what the design gurus are working on.

X-Metal Patents:

There are tons of them. Use Google Patent Search to really explore. I've done it and it gives you a feeling of the original inspiration and exclusivity Oakley had designing all the legends.
