It does seem the most confusing thing.

No-one is fully prepared to embrace one or the other so why not do both, keeps all cunts happy that way.
I just had this conversation with a couple people today.

I suck at fractions. The American in me wants all bolts to be standard. But the guy that can't do math in his head or fractions loves metric bolts. 15 too small, 16 or 17 not 1/2 9/16 and what ever is next

I have a socket set that has both Imperial and Metric, most modern/current stuff seems to be metric here but they still include Imperial measurement sockets, I guess you never know when you will come across an old fitment and then those sockets will come in handy.
