A semi good way to test is run it under the water tap for a few seconds then wear it.. after your body heaTs up the watch you will notice some fog under the crystal. If that happens open it back up and let it dry then reseal better and repeat all steps till you have no sign of fogging..
 
all I can say it's an opinion and there have been problems with the mm and none that I know of for the hp. 1.) is leakage(the seal for battery) and 2nd the spring in the clasp which is know to break. Which watch just falls off your wrist. Not to say possible problems down the road for the hp but nothing current. But there is for the mm.
Actually there is one thread on here about the markings on a HP face falling off. I think it was @zwc0442
