Water Jacket Ear Socks?

Can the ear socks on the Water Jacket be replaced with an ear sock that does not have the strap? Or.....can the strap be removed?

You can use the ear socks off the old Racing Jackets as they were the same frame I believe.

Correct. Racing Jackets + Strap = Water Jackets. The Water Jackets even say Racing Jacket on them underneath the nose piece.

Which is all good in theory, but old racing jacket ear socks are next to impossible to find. Any out there that can be modified to fit?

I wonder if the Pro M Frame socks will fit. I don't see them on O.com anymore, but did find the strap kit for the Pro M Frame. They look pretty similar:

I've just got the two piece nose rubber for my Bengal Red Racking Jackets direct from Oakley UK. Might be worth a call to see if they still have any of the ear stem rubbers for them.
Would be interesting to know if the M Frame rubbers would fit the Racking Jackets

I think I have a couple of Pro m frame ear socks BNIB a slate color and a black color..they are shorter may work but would take some finesse and some dish soap...
