Looking for water jacket but seems they are hard to find reasonable priced. What are the main differences between the two and if I get a racing jacket earpeice set will it perform the same as the water jacket

Water jacket is a rigid molded frame (the ear stems do not bend and has a much thicker strap. it has vents in the frames around the lenses and the frames actually float

Racing jackets are updated jawbones. So they are a sport frame with switchlock that also come with a strap.

It could perform as a substitute, but will not really compare to the WJ overall

Both vintage Water and Racing Jackets are both one solid frame (I.e. can't be folded). Main difference is that Racing Jackets have two separate nose pieces like other regular pairs and the lenses are not vented, Water Jackets on the other hand have a singular nosepiece like the ones on M Frames and Radars, the lenses are vented, and they also come with a strap to keep them in place, hope this helps

appreciate the help. havent found where it says they float though....trying to find a good polarized pair is like finding a good woman...lol jk
