What happen to our eyes if we use scratched lenses?

I wonder what happen to our eyes if we use scratched lenses?

Let say you use it everyday for daily work, then it got scratched, too busy to buy a replacement...

What you all think, O friends? Any experience? Any expert opinion?

For example this R1 lenses as reference. Left lens has small scratch, Right Lens has a few dings in front of vision.

I’ve kind of always wondered this also. Do the scratch allow in harmful UV rays??

the only thing that happens is things will be less clear when you look through the lens.

UV protection is inherent in the material of Plutonite - ie. polycarbonate - so it would still provide protection if it is only scratches.

I don't think there be any permanent damage to the eyes but it would drive you crazy having a light spot in your vision.

Depends if they are deep enough that your eyes will try and focus on them.

I think a person who's kind of OCD to begin with would be more prone to have this problem. Personally, being a "little" OCD, this is a conscious concern for me.

It’s like the etched lenses, such as Finitos and Ichiros. I can go all day without noticing them, or I can catch them out of the corner of my eye once and then not be able to see past them for the rest of the day :s

Ahhh! Now I'll never be able where polarized or prizm lenses again.
