What Is Your Job.........

Before I was tasked with the responsibility of coordinating all the fabrication and delivery of the structural steel crap, I was working major tagged mechanical equipment...

This is a 580 ton Auxuliary Boiler from a company called Macchi, from Italy...it had a 65 week lead time (engineering/fabrication/testing) and the package was almost $6MUSD...

It's basically a full "Plug N Play" Unit...

For 11 months I had weekly conference calls with these guys, I'd review schedules, I'd check their unpriced purchase orders for 80 sub suppliers they had, I'd ensure their DWGS and Calcs were submitted on time, etc etc...

In January, I was pulled off the job so I never got to see the finished product...

Well, it shipped on a 500ft vessel last week from Porto Marghera to the Port of Lake Charles...

Fruits of my labor...

Vessel was the BBC Aquamarine, FYI...

That sucks that you didn't get to see it finished after all that but it's still impressive.

Lake Charles isn't too far from me. Do you know where it's going? My dad is a tug boat captian and sometimes pilots or escorts ships through the Mississippi and the canals. Would be funny if he came across it.

Structural Steel is not fun...

You're looking at @ 1360 tons of structural steel needed for a heater module...

About 17 million worth of steel ;)
