What kind of stand is this?

I recently found a few of these and I am not sure how old they are. I was also wondering how much they were worth. They can be stacked up if you have more of the top piece

Correct the stores would use them in display and put accessories like hats, shirts,or small things in, it originally came as a set of three cubes and the base. Which an be separated to use on serial tables. I had one but sold it
