It’s crazy how different the US and Australia are.

When I was holidaying in Hawaii last year with my wife, we saw a ad at a Taco Bell for staff. The pay rate was like $7-$9 an hour.
Here the base rate is anywhere from $11-13 and penalty rates on weekends.

Good point... I was slightly appalled at the low wages but then I googled it

Those two fast food rates are close-ish...

Minimum wage here is 12.50$

Different countries have different priorities.

I’m just glad I won’t lose by house if I get sick or send my kids to a decent university

Oooo and I almost forgot....

The only thing worse then the actual colleges/universities themselves are the people who elect to pay to go there....then they complain about how much they owe for going there because they arent being paid enough after they left to pay off what it costed them to learn a bunch of stuff that isnt making them enough to pay off the debt they signed up for.

Ya those people are what makes it all possible.

Might be worth a re-fresh on how higher learning institutions are the forefront of technologies and research.

And I prefer a Dr. with legit knowledge, skill, & *education* vs “Gus” when I need surgery, or have cancer.
