I'd suggest to leave them alone and just find a beater pair especially that they're bnib.

i say tio2! there are thousands and thousands of 3rd gen, the chances of them being rare will be next century to come....exercise your custom excellence!

If it is your beater frame then yes. Since it is a 3rd gen and I am thinking it is new or mint, I would not bother messing with to prolong its life span. Just my 2 Oakley Penny.
