Why many of the Exchange sellers prefer CONUS only?

Left me wondering why many of the sellers prefer CONUS only...I didn't think it would be due to shipping fees since buyer bears the cost, right? Some enlightenment would help. Thanks!
I think several members have touched on why some sellers aren't prepared to go through the hassle and anguish of shipping outside of the US and truthfully, you can't hold this against them. Each individual will have their reasons, but in saying that there are services available online that you can subscribe to that will offer you a US address postbox to which you can have items shipped and these companies will in turn ship it on internationally for you with your preferred courier. I've worked with a Canadian, who resides in Thailand and had all his eBay purchases shipped to him this way without fail.

But what if it never showed up?
Thankfully we will never know the answer to that question, but it would have been a sad day globally for sure.

Thanks to all for chipping in. The reasoning seem consistent, it is a quite a hassle to ship stuff internationally as what @Dallas O Hog mentioned and reaffirmed by @Yeti.

Appreciate the effort made by sellers who went the extra mile to get the items shipped out, the buyer had the easier task of waiting for the mailman.

@mercbezerk Thanks for reminding me about third party shippers with US postbox address. Completely slipped my mind. Costly but nonetheless an available option.

The thing is a lot of international transactions Noone wants to pay for the extra shipping cost. Also you have to go and stay in line and someone has to assist. No slapping a self service postage on it and dropping it off

don't forget filling declared paper for the customs also writing a long and strange addresses

@Dallas O Hog @kronin323 I was surprised about the haggle over extra shipping cost as I always thought that buyer bear the shipping costs.

sometimes we paid premiun for express or priority and still getting shipment via airmail with no tracking

Other thing is a few members have left bad tastes in people mouths for complaining about how long shipping takes, accusing people of stealing and then some who don't appreciate those going out of their way to assist in shipping overseas. I no longer do runs for people unless they are good O friends. Also some want to declare a low value but don't pay friends and family. You can't do this due to the fact that if it's lost, full ins isn't paid for so that member loses out.

From the UK, it's really no more difficult to ship outside the country than inside. My last batch had 1 to the UK, 1 to Sweden and 2 to the US. Need new printer cartridges so I don't print labels myself, so it's a trip to the Post Office any which way.

There seems a lot of presumption that those things that are an onus on the buyer (higher shipping, longer time etc) will be unpalatable but this is by no means always the case.

I've often bought stuff from German eBay that was marked Germany only by sending a friendly email (in German, it helps) asking if it was really out of the question to ship here.

I've bought stuff from Japan that has been here two days later.

I think a lot of the barriers are psychological rather than real impediments to a successful trade...
