Hmmm I know of a leather smith who does custom leather and such. I showed him if he can replicate the mars wrap he said there should be no problem. I wanted him to sample my craters, but did not for go with it as he might scratch my new pair. now if I can get a hold of a beater pair that I might do.

Yeah pjd, I have often thought about trying out a Tanner. It would be easy for them to make. The string thread would have to be very similar. Trouble with these that are for sale is the frame is marked up and the lenses are bad.

You can probably fix these if you take off the old leather you can get a template and put on new Buckskin.

What about the marked frames and knackered lenses though X? Would of been a good buy for you with refinishing. Price too high though IMO.

They finished at £430 last week. Looks like whoever bought them wasn't happy and sent them back. They are not in good shape.
