Box does indeed state VR50 Black Iridium. Transmission % literature in the box has VR50 at 50% (obviously!) and VR50 Gold Iridium at 40% transmission but doesn't mention VR50 BI...

I got the 35% trans info from o-review lens db...

Sounds reasonable if VR50 gold is 40%.
