These are my CUSTOM Moons . I carved them from Micronesian Teak. They’re so light they float.View attachment 1014364

Thanks Lopaka. I wore my Moons for five years. They were my helmet glasses and I wore a helmet at work to go to gas wells on an ATV and snowmobile. The frames cracked, but the lenses were still perfect. So, I started Whittlin’. This was the second pair of frames that I carved. These are really comfortable and light.
Take care.

I’ll put up a few more, and Thank You guys. I found that my right ear is higher than my left, so I carved the temple accordingly. Still trying to decide how to finish the back side around the lenses. If You’re wondering, the Teak is lightweight, and the fit is really good, so they are very comfortable. The hardest part was carving the frames to arc around Your brow with a board that was only 3/4 inches thick. My frames won’t break again unless I stomp on them. I won’t do that though.

Also, these took a long time. No sandpaper ever touched these frames. I would just watch tv and shave the wood away with a razor knife. I don’t know how many hours, but if was a lot. I would love to have a CNC or a laser printer. I would have to take a course to learn how to program it. I may do it, but I’m 65 years old, and every time I buy something cool, my wife says, “Oh, great. Something else for me to sell when You’re dead.” I don’t like thinking about my cool stuff at a barn sale.
My barn is all hand hewn post and beam, and 151years old. Perhaps I should build a combination shop and cabin out there?
