'the second hand doesn't rotate' - do you mean the sub dial at the 9 position? the 'normal' second hand is the 'world city hand' on this model....

The red hand is the second hand and it doesn't move the only thing you couldn't do with this watch is time a track meet or something like that, other than that it works great and keeps great time

the red hand isnt the second hand - the second hand is the small sub dial @ the 9 position. i have the manual in pdf format if you want a copy.
