The Dillon matte is an interesting idea. While it seems completely impractical for 99% of applications, cerakote gen 2 isn't IR refective. The division of cerakote that distributes the gen 2 requires qualified law enforcement letter, though I believe anyone stocking cerakote can order it. Falls into the category of totally unnecessary, but damn its cool.

Now, now, I said 99% of the time. If you have the concern about the IR signature of your frames when someone is using thermal to cap you, then you will have greater problems than what cerakote could provide. However, if given the choice I would so use the gen 2.
