It was my understanding that the paint process took well over a year to develop and they only sprayed on the outside to prevent facial oils from damaging the paint, every pair is sprayed by hand also.

Saw both the fuel cell and breadbox at my vault. Both were underwhelming and definitely unique. The manager told me each one take 3 days to hand paint. He agrees that the box is the coolest part and showed me they're all individually numbered (whoopie!)

Yes, 130. I think the manager at my vault said like 300 but I could be off

I wonder if the numbers are totally random because I bought mine on day 1. Kind of a high serial to be bought on release day. Especially if there are only around 150-300. Oh well, still cool to know they are serialized.
