Yes, it has the potential but keep in mind it is called the healthcare industry, first and foremost. Why would they want to reduce profits? It's the same reason why drug companies fight to keep their patents on medication for as long as possible - to make as much profit on the R&D as they can.

The world has changed incredibly in the last 20 years as a result of the internet. Now we have seen in the last 5 years how rapidly politically/socially the world can change. It used to take decades to reach the full market, like the US or Europe. Now anyone with internet access can, in practice, reach most of the world markets in days! What I am getting at is there are now novel ways of doing things that as they call it, "disrupt", established industries.
