Hello! I just wanted to give a report - I've just spotted an absolutely fake Pit Boss 2 today. It was a Matte Rootbeer/Tungsten Iridium model. I met with someone who posted it online locally (Calgary, Canada). I didn't buy it, of course. I didn't know fake PB2s existed until today, and I didn't think fakers could replicate the see-through crystal material of the body. Anyway, here's what I noticed about it:

1. The lens quality was poor - not polarized at all, and did not have the characteristic Oakley lens clarity.
2. The "polarized" etching was not as sharp as it should have been. It was a little bit blurry, and a bit too centered on the lens.
3. The rootbeer frame was somewhat see-through, but not crystal-like. It looked cloudy, and felt grainy and rough.
4. The metal trim on the arm did not fit properly into the space as it's supposed to. It looked like the metal piece was too small and did not fill the mould shape properly. There were significant gaps.
5. The metal parts appeared to be of low quality. It looked dull and had a "painted" texture.
6. The screws on the interior parts were bigger than it should be, and was protruding. The lens corner screws looked bigger as well.
7. It did have the serial numbers, and the "PIT BOSS II" marking on the inner left arm metal piece. Watch out for blurry/low quality printing.
8. It felt very light, and the hinges felt very flimsy.
9. It didn't come with the elite box - the seller had an original microfibre bag and a zipper soft case.

So anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know in case you encounter one of these out there.

I wanted to add my 2 cents to the pool for all. I recently went thru ebay and well added more PBs to my collection. And seller luckly has 24K+ item sold at 100% rating.
But PB's have "sample" marked on them Sku 03-303, rivits, screws, polarized iching, made in usa all match up with the elite series PB I got right when PB's were starting to come on ebay.
That said only thing missing in these sample PBs is the "A" on stems.
Does anyone else cares to confirm this. I have another "Sample" of PB2 sadly I do not have a ref. point i.e. another original with box that I can confirm it to.
That said I will intro myself later. Its my first post. For those that are curious about who the bay seller is msg me and I will be glad to share his id.
Finally, my prayer "to the Holy Father we prey; for a pair of Oakley X-metals everyday" :D -Amen

post a couple of pictures - one front on and one side on. pm me a link to the ebay auction if you want.

Attached pix for consideration. I cannot make out any differences. And hence its either a very good fake or "sample".
Ofcouse sample did not come with box or elite pouch having pitboss style Oakley logo on the pouch. Finally, its only because I recently saw in an ebay listing about the "A" on right stem that I started to dig deeper and finally ended up here. Luckly I only have 1 PB1 as "sample" and its for my daily use and guy who sold it to me had listing as rare sample PB1

look good to me but i would do more research on the lack of the 'a'.

Ok thanks for your valueable input.
When I do make it to the O-store will ask for more details. This was for PB1.
Can anyone suggest if there is this "A" in PB2? Sadly I have a sample and there is not even the square around which "A" is put on PB2.

Are these real?
