I purchased these Holbrooks from the eBay reseller Sasy420 (Worldtech Group Inc) for ~$160 to replace my broken glasses of the same type - gunmetal Holbrook prizm
I have combed over every detail, performed paint scratch tests, looked for red flags in the packaging and paper documentation, and tested the polarization in comparison to my old broken ones. The only things that raise my suspicions, besides the %30 price discount, are:
- A perceived slight difference in weight (which very well could be a placebo effect);
- the new frames are of a slightly lighter shade in color than my old ones (though my old ones had a lot of sun and skin oil and sunscreen exposure);
- and despite the reseller having 80,000+ sales at a 99% rating, I can’t find ANYTHING on Reddit, this forum, or the internet about this reseller aside from a couple feedback posts. I would think with as many sales as they have listed, there would be more discussion about this company.
If these are fakes they are the best counterfeit I’ve ever seen in my life. What do you guys think?
