Hi community,

I am reaching out to you because the oakley customer support cannot adequately help on my matter.

I have lost an important counterpart to the screw for the hinges. See the screenshot. Oakley do not seem to have an adequate spare part and want 235USD for a repair service (please what?? - I think they are out of their minds) If that was a car it would be considered an economic total loss.

Does anyone know the part and where I can get it. Once I have the part I can fix it in no time.
The model is: OO4128-0453

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

I have contacted Oakley support again and they said there are no spare parts available. Hence the shades are not usable anymore. What a pity that is. I will try to bring to a glasses specialist to see if he can do anything about it.

But I dont want to spend too much money.

maybe something like this would work...last post

@All
I have found a suitable solution for me.

  1. I purchased a mini screw and nut set from aliexpress for 5 USD
  2. Important was to have a 1.4 nut and if you also lost the screw an m1.4 x 9mm
  3. I used the milling machine that my girlfriend usually uses for her nails to extend the hole in the frame and to make the nut fit the frame.
  4. After the hole was prepared you can just screw everything together
  5. I will use some plastic, or silicon to close the visible hole later
The good thing, if I'll lose it again I can repair it again :)

I cant believe that OAKLEY do not have any spare parts for that. It is a shame for such a brand. Above all they wanted more than 200 USD for a repair service. Thats just a certificate of inadequacy from a brand that markets themselves as a high quality ****.

Prio to milling the hole the nut wouldnt fit

The hole is just large enough to make it fit.

Holds perfectly. Added some locktite. I will close the hole with some plastic or silicon. Have to purchase that though.
