Top Tips for Selling Your Oakleys in the Exchange Area

Last thought, I would also highly recommended everyone to have a read on the 3 rules below which govern OF. It feels safe and secured to participate in a forum which governed by rules, isn't it!

Last but not least, I'd like to quote ..."If you sell some stuff and this is like a revenue stream, why not give back and become a Premium Member or Forum Sponsor?"

1. Rules on X-Metal Exchange

Updated. Thanks for these great tips from these guys. You all have my respect!
  1. Clean up your thread after the sale so no one bumps it unnecessarily when everything is sold. Change the title prefix appropriately to "Sold", "Traded", or "Found". If selling multiple items in a single thread, mark which ones are sold, and change the title prefix when everything in that list is gone. And close your thread (@iamFLIP)
  2. Don't attack people publicly if their stuff is overpriced. PM them. Attacking them makes the community smaller (@Linegear Japan)
  3. Read the rules.... Rules on X-Metal Exchange - Please Read Before Posting In The X Metal Exchange Section, Exchange Guidelines - Exchange Guidelines, and Forum Rules - Forum Rules (@Linegear Japan)
  4. Do your homework on what something is really worth! (@pjd1234)

Seriously though, leave the sold price in the thread. It helps with seeing how prices trend. I have found the lack of prices to be a bit annoying.
I struggle with this one, as I can see it both ways. If someone sells soemthing dirt cheap, then people expect that to be the new standard. I know x metal rubber is going through that right now...and I’ve seen it with Juliets and some others.

If you see ten Juliets for sale. And the range is from $200-325 but you see one for $150 you know that the low one is an anomaly. I do not buy and sell on here. So I don't know what a good price is for the sunglasses I am looking at. It would help me set up my budget to know what they were going for in the past.

Yeah, that’s the other side...

This.

Not necessarily. This is not real estate where a cheaply sold comparable screws up pricing for everyone.
If someone sells something for dirt cheap but you have the chance to see what others have sold for (or bought for) it allows one to, at the very least, know what price range to expect. There will always be some outliers and those usually are discarded as abnormal behavior.

I don't know enough about these frames. It would help me. I am smart enough to know that there is a range and seeing 10% of them going for ridiculously high or low is understandable.
I did a pricing guide, here....
X-Metal Pricing - Relative Values (cacatman)
using the baseline value of a 9/10 Juliet pair without box, being the guideline. So if a Juliet goes up in price, so does everything else (relatively). I actually did have prices instead of multiplications of the cost of a Juliet pair, but I got so much negative feedback for posting such a thread (seasonal changes blah blah), that I changed it. Anyhow, this should give you a rough idea.
