BEING THE SO CALLED BEST??? Comes with a title at the end rings counts. Okay i know somebody gonna mention horry, kerr, etc. those are key players not franchise players. RINGS do count at the end of the day especially if you are the so called face of the team. RINGS COMES WITH BEING BEST PERIOD.

and um.... "No one should wear number 23 as respect to Michael Jordan..."... and then... went back to CLE and wore 23... haahaha

At this one he should wear 6 that how he won 2 in miami. 23 is cursed lol "F" that number it has a name on it already its a has been number. James is the best rite now hands down he should make his own legacy not imitate somebody. I love jordan i am a fan when he was playing, but he is not playing anymore he is a has been now no disrespect. This is the present and i dont wanna go back to old relics all the time im looking forward to the future.

Of course its all about the rings! And some guy here saying Russell is overrated about getting 11rings against a weak era.

Weak era is the time of Julius Earving, Wilt Chamberlain, oscar Robertson, jerry west, Kareem abduljabbar, moses malone. I get that the NBA is in a transition period from mere 10teams into 22teams late in the 70's. But thats not the point, it is still the best basketball in that era, and for the world for that matter.

As im saying, Curry has all the attributes of Pete Maravich and Leflop could not even win against this guy. While the pistolman is even rank more or less somewhere in 10-15 in that era. He could have been the best but thats another story.

Having a Ring (or Rings) does define today's Super Stars. Still some of the best players of all time don't have a ring. The list is long. Especially during the Jordan era. He kept a bunch of guys from getting their rings. Does not make them any less of a player.
Some of them are the top 50 and HOF players. It is the same in All Sports!! It is not easy to be a Champion.

Agree malone, ewing, barkley etc. , but still ring is a ring no matter what greatness is nothing without a ring and thats that . Lebron has two and thats great i believe in the minds of others even me he surpassed those i mentioned. Well i guess i am asking too much but hey youbplay to be a champ not second best and if lebron wants to be in thesame category of atleast top ten even five greatest hes got to have more than two rings to back up that claim or even claim a spot.

Well I have to disagree with you. Those three players you listed are top 25 players of all time. Malone even higher.
Rings do not = Greatness. Rings = Legacy.
Greatness is how they preformed on the court.
Trust me those and many others without Championships have left a lasting impact on this game. They are Something and not "Nothing"!!

It all comes down to who has the better supporting cast. Curry has support players Green, Iguodala, THompson that could flat out shoot. Lebron has the New york knicks-melo. Lol! No matter how great a player is, without a better team, he will always lose. When MJ had pippen, rodman they won. When Kobe had Shaq and/or Gasol they won.

I am not dis crediting them at all. A great or even the best player without a ring??. Imagine lets say jordan best player on the planet without a ring??. Come on now. Its just does not sound right atleast to me. You wanna be the best be the best player and back it with rings period. I am sure at this point duncan had passed malone as the best PF ever. When you are retired and grumpy how would you say im the best in the world at one time but i did win a ring????. Well it means you aint you were second at best. Also just to back up my claim most of the top 50greats won a ring or have a ring.
