Seems we are running down the months until 2026 pretty quickly.. 50th anniversary party for influencers & celebrities. Do we think us peasants will get any cool items to commemorate the anniversary in the shape of microbags, clothing and so on?
Was maybe hoping for some more Travis Scott stuff.. big announcement but norereleases or new products.. maybe 2026 he will come to the forefront?

This year has been the least I have spent on new products in over a decade... it was a total let down as far as us commoners are concerned. The only exciting thing that happened was almost $3K to get in on and even the collaborations have been a fraction of what they have been. It is like Oakley gave us all a major snub and treated its 50th year as though it was just another in the books. I guess its just a machine now... a emotionless, bland, expensive, boring machine.

I’ve heard rumors they still have something planned before the end of the year. Not sure exactly what though. I’ve actually spent more this year than the previous. I only wish they would have promoted Caio Amato in 2024 so he would have had more time to do more. It usually takes about a year before new leaderships ideas are fully in play. We are finally seeing Japanese Skull stuff on the U.S. site, and more Interesting clothing. I’m also finally seeing new frames that I’m interested in and not just Eye Jackets and Muzm releases. -Yes, they still miss big opportunities in selling stuff like more 50th anniversary stuff, but part of it is what Brian Takumi told us. They don’t want to flood the market with things that are too easy to get because that takes away part of the appeal. That it’s limited and not everyone has one. Which can be frustrating but I also understand their point.

They don’t want to flood the market with things that are too easy to get because that takes away part of the appeal. That it’s limited and not everyone has one. Which can be frustrating but I also understand their point.

That is truly an unfortunate outlook on it. JJ’s Oakley empire was built on cool quality product that is accessible so it can be used, not so limited that fans can’t experience it and won’t remember it in a couple years. I truly hope Oakley fails miserably in the long run so they can rebuild from the ashes into something resembling what they used to be rather than staying as another hypebeast machine.
