Alt/MPH Ichiro Radarlock Signature Model?

Hi all,
Did not want to clog up the WDYBT thread with a discussion on these with @Rcga32 and @BakedTater, so I figured it would be better to start a new thread. Wondering if someone has the back story on these metallic fade Ichiro Radarlocks that are similar, but surprisingly different than the retail version sold in Japan? In his response, @BakedTater identified the following:

• Nosebridge piece is Matte black
• Pearl white icons

When compared to the retail version, here's what I observed:

• Nosebridge piece is Polished black
• Polished white icons
• The teal is slightly darker
• Polished black bands versus light grey
• Prizm Grey lens (I added Chrome Polar to the alt)

I'm guessing leftovers from a prototype run that didn't make the final cut.

Mine didn't have a SKU or even the "NPI" designation for new product introduction on so I wouldn't be surprised if it is because of this.

Would the alt be more rare than the retail? Was looking at wearing/customizing the alt and leaving the retail on display.
