Any Sneakerheads In The House?

Remember your first pair of Nike Air Max? These are his first pair.

Jordan 38

Who knows until I experience the outsole separation, but in the short time I've used them, so far so good. Just an overall proper working shoe for the most part.

Air Jordan 1 "Palomino"

Nothing like getting the newest iteration and the oldest back to back.

This pair is seemginly a smidge more substantial in material. Smidge thicker, and less involved with the PU finishing coat for a more natural texture and feel. This is my closest to "monotone" pair, so I can blend in better with....people who don't wear sneakers.

I never became a collector, but it is kinda crazy that in like 2019 I couldn't land pairs, and fit wasn't so great, so I was gonna turn away from this model. I really just wanted one as a go-to beater to appreciate, and that soured.

Some luck and figuring out the fit a couple years later, I've been getting my share of pairs to lace up in colors I want, and it's become a mainstay of my rotation as originally intended. Stitched construction will probably have my 1's be of the only shoes today I still have at old age.

Nike Mac Attack Retro

miffed I couldn't land these on release because they shouldn't warrant presence on the resell market, so I got over it, and then didn't, as I saw further releases and knew for sure I wanted the original colorway. I said f*** it and paid up.

Glad to say I like wearing them as much as I hoped. I would want another dark colorway (especially at the toe mesh) if I had to have a second.

Among the 80's basketball pairs this wears similarly at the upper but instead is a mid-cut. The outsole is slimmer at the toe, which didn't make it so great when I was just shooting around and nearly rolled over the footbed a few times. Casually they're great, though.

Jordan 8 Retro Playoffs

Landed the second round of Early Access.

I'm not big on 8's but wanted one back in the collection as it was my gap between the 1-14 run, and to just give it another chance.

Honestly I still don't love wearing it, but this imo is one of those less in-demand pairs that quietly have some of the better craftmanship among retros. I think the number of such examples has grown, even though at the expense of material changes that make the hues not match the originals.

Finally some steps to make the cost of these shoes a bit more worthwhile outside of nostalgia. Would help make a case with new buyers.

All you foos. Don't sleep in them 8s... :) I'm glad you snatched up a pair. This would be the color for me. Simple and well done!

I'm going to Sneakerness in Brick Lane, London, England, this Saturday. To see if I can spot the Alpinestars I wore in Oz, they were so comfortable and fitted me just great. I loved them and they looked the schizzle too: skater type.
