Any Sneakerheads In The House?

I guess i just can’t get enough of Boost!
Another collab pick up, the Adidas X Mastermind in EQT Mid on a blue ink colorway. I must say the blue hue is amazing, picture dont do its justice as they were amazing in person and having a mid-cut is also very uncommon for EQT 93/17 i guess this is the only mid-cut version for the EQT model. I love the suede and the prime knit upper of this shoe that makes the whole shoe very comfortable. ☠️☠️☠️☠️

I swear you're going harder at Boost than I have ever seen you go at Jordans prior.

Granted, a lot of recent AJ retro's aren't amazing or are repeats.

But still, we need to call you ambulance

Those are sweet

Welp, Adidas tent sale and there was one shoe I was after:

hhl4qce.jpg

The Harden Vol 1 LS. I heard it fits better than regular Vol 1, and that seems to be true. I went half size up (a rare thing for Adidas) and everything seems to fit correct, compared to the regular Vol 1 that was loose as hell even half size down. Heel still sucks but the rest of the upper does a better job in forming around the foot. Proper knit vs that weird stiff stuff in the regular Vol 1

Cushion on the Vol 1 was always pretty nice. Uncaging the front makes it a bit nicer in the LS.

Tent sale in general looked like it offered a lot. Caged UB's were gone, which would've been the only other thing I'd be after.

361 Jimmer Fredette Shadow Blade High

I wish the execution came through because there's a lot of good about this shoe. If you know the slightest thing about the CBA, you know about Jimmer Fredette. Ex-NBA player who wasn't used to his potential, and is now the Lonely Master of China — and not lonely in that depressing way, but like "It's lonely at the top". His en route to dethrone Marbury with his God-Like performances.

Anyway, 361 is a Chinese brand and they're on the lower end of the spectrum. The original Shadow Blade is a low is I was on the fence about it, but then the high randomly dropped and I thought it looked cool enough to see for myself.

From the bottom the tooling is set up really well. The cushion errs more to response and the outsole is properly curved with a nice longitudinal flex groove at the forefoot. The "Hyper Knit" or whatever is a nice knit, backed by neoprene and mesh with maybe some glue. There's a lot of freedom with this setup that I like.

The lacing system unfortunately sucks. The front two laces cross over and back for the logo velcro strap. It's very loose — as, in there's way too much slack. The upper section get tied the normal way but it also anchors at the bottom, meaning if you managed to snap a lace, you a little SOL. Nonetheless everything seems stitched down pretty well.

Working the laces is a little finnicky with how they're routed in general, but the burrito tongue setup works really well. It can wrap pretty far around the medial side of the foot. That+the heel scultping goes to show much proper shaping does for fit, because even the top lacing doesn't have to be tight — not that you could go all that tight because the top holes are just some rubbery material.

Big side piece is a semi-rigid TPU, so it does flex in the front. The underside torsion unit also runs short to allow more forefoot articulation. Toe guard is a thick but soft rubber, which seems promising for abuse.

So in motion the shoe works pretty well, it just could've been way better. I could probably find a creative way to clip the slack of the strap, but eh.

i haven't bought any kicks in a long time, but i just picked up a new pair. i have been trying to ignore what sneakers have been coming out so i can use my spending cash on car mods this year instead. i have always been intrigued by the vapormax line. i am a sucker for a black nike's with volt color air units so when i saw the vapormax utility in that colorway i ordered them. i was actually worried these would be too crazy moon boot looking in person and wasn't sure i was going to keep these (also because after i ordered them i noticed the vapormax plus looks really nice). after getting them in person they don't look too crazy. they look nice and they are waaayyyy comfortable like a sock with an air unit on it. i am for sure keeping them and i think i may have to get another couple pairs of vapormax. maybe the all black vapormax plus and the orange and gray vapormax 2's. they are really nicer than i thought they would be.

I've been unsure of the Vapormax too. Thinking about it just to see how it compares to an Ultra Boost.

Your Utility version seems to have a more even look with the upper vs. midsole. Colors are awesome. Black + any loud hits tends to be a good combo.

But yeah same boat. Recent car work put me in quite a bit. Kinda want to finish with what I plan to do which I hope is next year.

I had the chance to compare vapormax vs ultraboost and its not comparable and not even close at all and even Nike react (boost counterpart) vs ultraboost, boost still wins my heart in terms of softness and comfortability. Just my .02

i think people get too hung up on vapormax vs. ultra boost like it is some kind of competition where being the second most comfortable shoe is a bad thing. there is no looser in that battle. they are different but both top tier in comfort. they pretty much feel like my flyknit air max but with a more foot hugging sock upper. too early to tell, but i think the individual air units of the vapormax might be a better ride than the single full foot air unit on the flyknit air max. probably because the air has to stay in the section of the foot with pressure on it.
