I prefer the look of the newest Kobe Ad Exodus, and New PG3... But this could easily be right up there. I'm really excited for the PG3, so many of my buddies loved the PG2 (that I never bought for some reason--- broke ass). lol.

The Why Not Zer0.2 is coming in a basic black/white.

Raining here so can't do anything, but there's something so likable about the simplicity in how it wears so far. We have all these shrouds, straps, offset lacing and booties and flywire, etc...and that stuff can legit work, but this feels like a real throwback to when shoes were....shoes.

The weirdest similarity I can put it towards is a pair of AND1's I used to have. It was supposed to be my game pair in middle school, but then I wore it in practice, and it worked for class dress code to be "demoted" to everyday wear behind another pair of shoes, but then it became the pair I turned to all the time because there was just no disagreement with it. I've repeatedly tried to look that shoe up but can't figure out what it is, and kinda mad. It looked like the Tai Chi but the upper was a textile/woven.

Anyway, this Westbrook feels similar. I don't think it's particularly exceptional at anything from my limited impressions, but just so easy to get along with and wear.

I'm not into the launch colorway of the PG3, but it's supposedly sticking to the same formula as the PG2 and 1, which should be a good thing.

Man, I used to love And 1. They had the coolest shorts. Haha, let me now what you think about the RW cushion setup when u get a little bounce in em.

Li-Ning Way of Wade 7
aIhT1dM.jpg

After how much of an impression the Wade 6 made, the 7 was inevitable. Was kinda let down when I heard the brand moved away from the Drive foam that was exceptional in the 6, and went into this as some kind of "due diligence" pick up to still give the brand a chance while it's Wade's final season.

The cushion setup is still pretty smooth. I'd liken it mostly to Brandblack's Jetlon cushion at the moment. I did find the Wade 6 to be a bit too soft at times, and this does seem tuned more towards response.

Materials are not as stiff or heavy as I expected. For the most part it feels like the Wade 6 on foot. Same kind of security and sizing (some may want to go half down). Backside is heavily structured. The base toe material is soft mesh while the toe cap is a more structured synthetic. Still iffy about the execution. It's not bad, just don't know for sure where it wins out. The lacing is better, though. Going traditional with more eyelets just makes for more proper fit.

Major win of this shoe overall is there just feels like there's more to it in-hand. The layering, and stitching, the selective use of materials for support, detail pieces, the use of carbon fiber...In pictures I hates the stripes, but in hand they feel more integral to the upper as opposed to slapped on.

Li-Ning isn't Nike, and Wade is not Jordan, so they are consciously trying to appeal to the customer. That effort in itself is something a lot of shoes don't come with. They kinda just sell themselves — Jordan Retros and Yeezys is mostly plain (albeit some are throwback) boxes. A lot of that is just a bucket list thing to me at least. Getting this or that retro I haven't had before, as opposed to something that's trying to win me over.

It's nice to see a brand trying. And it's not like they're doing as fluff to sell a cheap product. QC is pretty spot on and it feels very fresh out the factory. These come with dust bags, the heel interior has a quilted pattern, the insoles are sculpted + padded with added substance. Since these wear a lot like the Wade 6, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a solid performer.

Great review! This has to be the first Wade LiNing Model really like to try. It's the styling I like, looks slightly more sleek that previous models. You mention it's responsiveness and great fit. Looks like most of the touches are there! Enjoy man.

Just found this thread....Mrs T used to work for Nike and Converse outta Taiwan as a Project Manager - basically taking the concepts from the US and from there on in doing everything to put them in production. Managed to wrangle a few pairs of decent ones for the kiddo since she left (Jordan AF1 as her first set of baby sneakers).

Coolest pair she had were for CNY 2012 - Converse Dragon Edition. Not for sale, employee only. To be honest they aren't really as cool as the ones they did produce but nonetheless a very rare item indeed.

I'm still whinging at her about Nike's glue though....I've said too much....

I'm still stuck in 2002 with my sk8rboi Etnies o_O
