Both Here and There
I am not a frogger but I have noticed this section has gone neutral and not much discussion... Is it because Oakley has not done much with the model in the past couple years since the Ti was released or is this section of the hobby weaning and losing interest? Just wondering...

For myself, I got into Oakleys back in the day due to the whole "Mad Science" aspect...I was still on active duty and could not wear that kinda stuff day to day...and frankly some of the places I was in the world...not a great idea off duty (not that I was ever off duty overseas...but I digress).

Soooo....when I came home for R&R I'd ocassionally wear crazy stuff....I think my first pair of Oakley were those gun metal gray jobbies with red flames...my off duty contemporaries and family looked at stuffy ole me like I had grown an extra arm :p.

This is a long way around the block to say I've always sorta looked at Frogskins as Oakley's answer to Wayfarers....which I like...and have a pair...but rarely wear. Just sorta a normal pair O shades...but in cool colors. If I wanted "Mad Science" I'd get X-Metals or something more streamlined and Sci-Fi-like.

As of yesterday...I now have two pair of Frogskins. One Grenade and one Titanium...I'd still buy more but it'd be due to some cool colorway or metal or maybe even carbon fiber.

Not sure if I've answered your query...or just rambled there @XxRuMKaxX ...but at least it's a response! ;)

I was kinda looking in on this thread to hear from the real Frogskin afficinados to see their thoughts as well....what makes folks collect em....? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

For myself, I like the older colourways, mainly. I got almost a 'Century' of them. I started getting into them in the Collectors Frogskins, so 2009'ish. When my main focus was the Acid Rain Frogskins: for some bizarre reason....then I noticed more crazy colourways, Blue Chrome, Palm Trees, etc, etc. My 'Got to Collect Em All' mode kicked in. Even though, I'm nowhere some other 'looney tunes' collectors amounts, finacially and numbers, I'm just happy at my own pace.

That you do. You have one of the best frog collections out there. Beyond mine now. I keep only the ones I use or will use. My wife uses the frame as RX as do I. So we'll always have many.

The frame itself will always have a person or 3 after every rare colourway. Right now and before. I have seen prices fluctuate but never dive. I have owned over 1000 I'm sure. All of the rarest on the list. They've made me money and cost me money but will always be my favorite. Frogs don't die. This section just requires the one or three to post their grabs. There's one right now gathering everything. Its fun to help them out as well.

"Frogs don't die' they just multiply!!!!!!!!!

I feel maybe you're just 'massaging my ego', but thank you for the sentiment, Brian.:hi:

This forum made me go Frog crazy, I originally got here hating frogs (since they look like raybans) and mist x metals (I needed that o logo on the arms). And now if you look at my stuff, I’ve got like 20 frog pairs (my most repeated model), and my most expensive pieces are x metals.
As of late I havent seen anything I rather like, the color combos just seem dull and the “collabs” are either super hard to get or just too plain. If they push out something cool like the TIs I’ll be more than happy to jump in the frog wagon again, but for now I’ll stick to my old school models I liked as a teenager
