Detonator 1/2 working?

I just picked up a used detonator watch and put a new battery in and once I closed it up it was working fine until I set the time. Now the only thing that works is the alarm button which makes the alarm clock rotate so the battery is still good. The time does not work. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

The movement could be damaged or in need of cleaning. As years go on dirt builds up and oils dry out causing components to corrode. The detonator is an older watch in the line and who knows what kind of life it had before you picked it up. Take it to a certified watch repair shop (not a mall kiosk) they can let you know what's going on and estimate repair cost.

Thank you for your input. It completely stopped during the night. I’m just going to sell it as is. I don’t want to put any more money into it I only buy and sell items. Thanks again. Aloha
