do people wear X-metal romeos or juliets as dailies for their sheer comfort and performance and durability?

i recently came across the lore of these legendary frames- it seems people are far more caught up with the aesthetic over the actual utilitarian function of these glasses and how they actually perform.. the way the frames become weightless as they warm up and contour to the wearer- how the material composition of these frames carry a heavier meaning almost like the copper bracelets that help regulate energy i have noticed through my brief exposure that there is a certain amalgamation that occurs with endured wear. an experience far different from the injection mold here and now of most other "sunglasses." this is an appreciation post meant for discussion and not a call out at all, thanks for reading!!!

If I'm understanding your gist, I wore my Romeos and later, Juliets on a practically daily basis. This was in the early 2000's, and in Australia for around a year, so they were tools, with style! They got 'warm' very quickly, and at an average of 32° C, it's no wonder. Then when back here in Blighty, I wore them regularly, when the weather allowed: loved putting them on and then wanted to search out more in different Colourways, when the World of O, opened up to me.

I wear R1s because I have a big head. Part of the appeal is the aesthetic for sure. Not many people made sunglasses like Oakley. As for practicality, they can be if you understand the weight of the frame and tolerances of each lenses. I am still working on trying all 8 frames. So I could answer this question better. I normally go with R1s, then Pennys. Juliets are the wild card for any event. What do you have right now to wear?

i have a pair of the juliets that ive recently just rediscovered, hence how i found this forum looking to learn more about the sunglasses and appreciate them! i have a pair of romeos too but i am not sure of their legitimacy- they are certainly heavy and the arms on mine seen to have come from another pair of different glasses altogether- kind of a frankenstein oair i guess. i have about 30 other pairs of oakleys ive been collecting from thrift stores over the years, i need to wear safety glasses at work and i wear the heatwave extra wide with sideshields and polorazes and love those glasses! i also like the look of the livestrong black and yellow frames with the airholes in them i wear those often too.

pardon my ignorance as i am new hear, is there a difference between the oscars? romeos? romeo 1's? romeo 2's? i have a large cranium as well, i wish that meant i was more intelligent, alas i am not and learn best the hard way. i understand your gripe with having a wide head. these juliettes i found have alot of give in the nose bridge area and seem to fit my head perfectly- with no wiggle or play while i am wearing them- despite numerous people saying they are worthless until you correct them to spec and tighten the rivets- hence forth the inspiration of my original question. comfort etc. i wear typically a 7-5/8 to 8 fitted cap. and i found these dilapitared juliettes with a pair of romeos and e wires in a bin at Goodwill. where they charge .99 cents (canadian) per pound. so i think in total they cost me under $5 with the other goods i purchased.
