Eye Jacket Buying Guide

I wanna start a collection for wear and would really like to get a pair of Eye Jackets in the OG silhouette, but they could be from collabs or vintage. What’s a reasonable amount to spend and what’s some general advice before purchasing? I hate that they’re not general release.

Collabs will run you 225-450 for most. There are some exclusions to that on the higher end for some of the collabs that are harder to get.

OG eye jackets (square hinge) I wouldn't bother with if you plan on wearing them. They'll break as that old Omatter is soooo brittle.

New Eye Jackets - prices likely higher than they used to be due to the new collabs driving up their price. But I'd say 150-300 depending on condition and colorway.

I appreciate your insight! I’m assuming a lot of the eye jacket colorways I like are going to be an insane price, so I think I’m just going to try and get a new eye jacket in good condition in whatever colorway and just paint it myself.

These are my most desired and luckily some of them don’t look super hard to replicate.

As far as replicas are concerned, if you know which Icon Text, is used by that type, hypothetically you should be able to avoid, practically all fakes. It a tricky one to replicate well and acurately, even now. There's only, one of which I knew, if it was replicated, I'm out of ideas.

Honestly I’m not SUPER concerned with the icon text or matching the pairs exactly. All that matters to me is that they’re authentic and they sort of match the pair I can’t have in terms of colors heheh

The Moonscape are my absolute favorite pair of the new releases. I may have a New EJ I'd let go of. I'll take a look when I get home and shoot you a message.

- The is Top left a Tortoise / Gold Iridium.​

- They did NOT make this one as a New EJ.​

- Pretty hard to find an Authentic pair / Lots of fakes on this one​

- The middle left top pair is Rootbeer / Grey Polarized.​

- They did NOT make this one as a New EJ​

- Also, the Grey Polarized is arguably one of the most rare lenses for these​

- A New EJ Matte Rootbeer / Prizm Black Iridium was re-released as Satisfy Collab.​

- Probably your best bet on getting one and it not breaking.​

- Also Lots of Fakes​

- Next is Black Gold / Gold Iridium.​

- There is an OG Eye jacket and a New EJ version of this one.​

- Bottom Left is Gold X / Gold Iridium.​

- They did NOT make this one as a New EJ.​

- Very rear in good condition.​

- Top Right is Moonscape another Collab​

- another easy one to find but EXPENSIVE​

- Middle Right is a random Black possibly fake due to not having a Nose script and they only made a fire lens for the new collabs​

- Bottom right is the same as the left #3​

The Moonscapes are super sick, especially the color way. I think I plan to play it safe on my first pair with either a dark gold or dark brown metallic speckle and Prizm ruby or field lenses.

Great breakdown! I appreciate it. Alittle heart breaking how so many of them are either not wearable or super expensive.
