Oakley Enthusiast
hi all,
new here...nice place...
just want to share with you:
1. the Flight Jacket spare lenses have two types of lower hooks, one (supposedly the "old") being very hard to change.
2. the "old" type can we shaped like the "new" one making the lens change way easier
bought Flight Jacket originally with Prizm Road Black (R)- local store model OO9401-1937 (I think is a "new" model)
a couple of days after I bought online the Prizm Trail Torch (T)
all good, nice and easy change for both, easy remove and insert - after I watch few times the video...
Friday I received Prizm Deep H2O Polarized - also online.
and had quite a surprise, the change process was way harder, especially removing the lens was a real struggle.
the lower hook on H2O made the difference, was like in the official picture:
the original Road Black (R) and the spare Trail Torch (T) have a more curved lower hook, see below.
I think these are the new lens shape and the H2O is an older shape.
encouraged by DIY posts and the fact that Oakley lenses are not laminated, I use a Dremel (normal sand on the cylinder) and fine sandpaper to finish the margins.
and I "copy" the lower hook shape from the easy change lenses.
now H2O is easy to change too, still a firm click in the frame.
knowing what is about, looking closely, on some sites I was able to see the difference:
have a good one!
