Hey everyone. I've owned 3 different Oakleys over the years with the last one bought in the mid 2000s. When it was time for a new pair, I really didn't like anything at the time so I picked up a cheap pair from Academy and I've been using them for the last few years.

I started with M Frame Heaters when I was in high school and switched to e-wires. Towards the end of college, I switched to Whiskers and they were my favorites. I sold the M Frames years ago but held on to the e-wires and Whiskers hoping to find replacement ear socks and nose pieces. I gave up.

I went into an Oakley store recently and while nothing stood out, I am maybe thinking of picking up a pair. I'd prefer wired frames or something that's more for every day use than sporty looking ones.

Aloha and welcome to the O-Forum.🤙

I started with a Holbrook, switching from a Ray-Ban, that was like 2014 in Japan. Then collection went to 60 + plus frames. Then trimmed down. Now rebuilding.

OF is a good place to get some grails and have fun with the selfie thread. Just wait for the exchange requirements and when buy/sell, I'd say use PayPal G&S.
I just looked through the guides and there are quite a few good looking metal frames! When I looked on Oakley.com, I didn't see a filter for metal (may have missed it). I also didn't catch any in store so I thought Oakley moved on to O Matter only frames.

Yeah Oakley still does occasional metal releases (like the newer 3D printed Juliets), but they’re limited and pretty pricey—usually $1k+.

Most of the classics you see in the guides are older models, so they don’t show up in stores anymore. Best place is the forum—WTB or trade posts usually get good traction.

Also check out the Exchange section—there’s a short waiting period (around 14 days / basic requirements) before you can post, but once you’re in, it’s a great place to buy/sell/trade. Just a bit of forum T&C to click through haha.

Welcome again—have fun exploring OF, lots of gems if you dig around 👍
