How much could i possibly upgrade replica x metal XX?

I know this is borderline blasphemy to some here. But i got a hold of what i think (not an expert) are a decent pair of x metal XX replicas. I asked this on reddit and everyone got offended and wanted me banned if they could. What i want to know is how customizable these might be for my own personal use. Not trying to sell them, pass them as legit or anything of that nature. Just make them more comfortable and probably try some see if i could fit some lenses.

What i want to know is how could i go about removing the bridge pins to install couplers if they're even compatible. Add gaskets and finally put it all back together using line gear pins? I bought them for dirt cheap so this is just a little fun experiment for me. The frame is pretty solid metal and i'd be alright if i were to lose them or they get beaten up from daily wear. Someone said the pins are fake and aren't removable but i lightly tapped with a hammer and a blunt tool while protecting them with a towel and the pin did move. I just didnt want to keep hammering it so im waiting for a watch band pin removal tool to arrive.

Hope im not breaking any rules.

That doesn't sit very well in this community.
i understand and believe me i would love to have a pair of the real things. Just stumbled upon these and like i said i just wanted to see how much i could experiment and get away with. I know you're a master of this and a legend in the community but just wanted to ask. In the future when i finally get the real deal i know who ill definitely be sending them your way to give them life again.

Just wanted to know if its worth trying or leaving them for what they are and wearing them as is.

TBH, you can just wear it around like a beater. Modding it wont be worth the effort. The paint already shows signs of chipping around the edges, it will soon takeover larger areas.

Yeah that was my fault with the hammer thing. Would it be worth trying to fit line gear lenses? they are 40mm tall like specified on their store.

As @THE X-MAN says…not a lot of support in this community for fakes or knockoffs…just modding one or otherwise.

Here you are far better served keeping an eye out for a reasonable or beater Juliet and working those.

Like as not you are wasting additional funds trying to fit legit parts to a fake…and opening yourself up to “incoming fire” I doubt anyone will immediately grab torches and pitchforks as they did on Reddit…but the chance is never zero 😉

I understand. Definitely better than reddit that's for sure. I'll keep an eye out for legit ones and eventually work on them. I don't mind taking the heat, but i wanted an unbiased yes or no answer whether i should try it just for fun. I appreciate all the straight up responses and advice. Any specific place to look for real ones work on? I see people selling for 600 up to 1k + and as much as i would love to i just can't right now 😩

You need to meet the requirements to see the marketplace. 15 posts and two weeks as I recall. You can bypass all that with a membership.

There are real Juliet’s available here for well below those prices…depending on finish, box or no box. One I recall yesterday was 375.00

With patience you could likely do even better. It’s not about taking the heat…you’re new here. Starting with knockoff questions in a community that does not welcome knockoffs?

Want my two cents…shelve or better yet toss the fake…get to know this community. It’s worth your time 🪖👍
