By execution I assume you mean using this to dismantle the frame….
Cos that’s the method I favour. Dismantle and give them a nice warm bath in some antibacterial soapy water, then use a soft bristle toothbrush
to agitate away the gunk and they will be good as new I reckon.

I use a old tooth brush and lots of soap. On some of the pairs I've bought that looked that bad or worse. Ive taken the scour pad and made a little ball that can be put into the grooves and clean them easily as to not scratch finish.
I'll let them dry and recheck for leftover dna that got missed usually in cracks. I read that initially that you give your wife a good annual clean….
