My Oakley Journey…
Figured I’d finally start a small collection thread.
It all started with a Holbrook matte black with Tanzanite—still a sweet memory. Back in 2014 when I was living in Tsukuba, Japan. At the time I wasn’t thinking about collecting—I just liked the look and the fit, so I picked one up.
From there it grew.
Got into X-Metal, Scar, Plate, Eye Jacket, Frogskins… even picked up a few grails along the way—C-Six, Hollow Point watch, Time Tank. Loved the look on those, though the watches felt a bit heavy on the wrist for me.
Started trying different frames, learning what works (and what doesn’t). Some pieces stayed, some moved on. A couple I thought were keepers didn’t last, and a few ended up sticking longer than expected.
I wouldn’t say I’m chasing big numbers or every release. These days it’s more about trying things out and seeing how they fit in hand and on face.
If it works, I keep it. If not, I let it go.
At the end of the day, a few pairs earn their spot… and those are the ones that matter.
Will share a few pieces from the journey.
