Oakley plates on ebay

Wow this thread really blew up. I don't know if this one or the chop one is better popcorn.

But really all we were talking about was showing a courtesy to those who put in the effort to track down the deals. Not making rules, not saying you couldn't turn a friend onto a deal, not defining ebay strategy, just showing a courtesy.

I sometimes often fart in crowded rooms; there's no rules against that. But I know I'm being discourteous. The difference is it's a deliberate discourtesy instead of an unintentional one. People are always free to be discourteous, but some would choose not to if they're aware of what they're doing. And others would do it anyway. Either way it's now an informed decision.

Jimbabwe, keep posting deals please. Not your fault if your search-fu is good. This is how I found my $10 Custom R1 on eBay. And I have proof.

Very true. I see it as a courtesy to the seller. But like I said earlier it works both ways.

Yeah, one way to look at it is one option is a courtesy to the seller and the other is a courtesy to buyers.

But a way to look at both sides from the same standard goes back to leaving the advantage to those who put in the effort. The argument on the buyers side is not posting it is a courtesy to those who put in the effort to track down the deal over those who didn't.

In a similar light on the seller's side, some sellers put in a lot of effort to ensure their items are properly priced and well marketed. If a seller doesn't bother to put in that effort, do they deserve the "courtesy" of greater visibility and potentially better sale price over the sellers who did?

If helping one person harms another, one should at least make sure you're helping the people you want to help and harming the people you want to harm, by whichever standards you hold them up to. In this case the proposed standard is who put in the effort, that hard work deserves reward, but it's not the only answer.

Anyway, really this topic turned into this...

That's a hell of an anology! I'm glad I'm not the only one to fart in crowded rooms full of people.
