Oakley xSwarovski plasma collab??

Joe.York

Oakley Collector
Here’s an odd collab dropping Oct 24th….

I like the Plazma design but I’m not sure about this pair. This seems like a very niche collab for Oakley.

duuuude i just saw this on IG and was like WTF … Count me in! They're badass

A Swarovski collab is kinda tough, not going to lie. Especially since Piet does some badass collabs with them too.

However, why the Plazma frame 😭😭.

Imagine them doing this to the Plantaris or the EJ Redux (I’m bias since i like these frames lol) 😮‍💨😮‍💨💎💎

Hell, they could have done the Radar EV Path just like Vetements did back in the day with the Spikes 🔥

Different opinions.. to me there is absolutely nothing “tough” about a premium brand like Oakley collaborating with a glass crystal brand. Final nail for me, Oakley has officially retired as a stand alone brand and now is relying on collabs and hype of other brands to keep theirs going, sad day.

I agree and also disagree. Like this isn't Jim Jannard's Oakley anymore. It's okay to be nostalgic but we we have to know Oakley (aka Lux) is trying to evolve with today's market. Let's not forget it's 2025.

They're just moving with the way fashion/streetwear is currently trending but still taking risks in the sense that they're trying new stuff. Look around and everyone is collab-ing maybe a little too much.

I do agree and find this collab random as hell but at least they are something different, beyond the "slap someone else's brand on an Oakley and call it a day". They can't make everyone happy.
  • When they release old school MUZM pieces, I've seen people say "Lux is riding Jim's coattails..."

"Oakley has officially retired as a stand alone brand and now is relying on collabs and hype of other brands to keep theirs going, sad day"
  • 1000% Disagree with this, cause Oakley and Swarovski are in completely different sections in the industry, so this is mainly Oakley hype...
