In the earlier iterations of Ruby, they may have used more coatings , for the majority of pairs produced, they definitely had a deeper hue. It's more the depth, which gives that almost magical: the range of tones you can get in some outstanding pairs.

Very Nice ! Almost like a copy of the movie. Its my 3rd sub 5K serial.. they are not all deep rubies unfortunately!
