I wouldn't necessarily say easy, but nothing is fail proof. And yeah, I was hacked back then.

I was hacked out of revenge, I spoke out against a scammer and he took the account over. Most people were wise because they know I don't sell ... I didn't recall GRF selling on the forum, which was a red flag to me.
Did you check to see if your login info had been stolen from another hacked website?

I suggest everyone check their stuff regularly

Is there a reason that account also mentioned throwing an item up on eBay?
just thinking of a secure way to communicate and confirm that it's me too. I have the same username over a lot of secure platforms. ebay was the common one i thought of that Oforum members are familiar with messaging. forgot about o-review though. i posted something there too.

That was the real you also, you mean? Did you check to make sure you still have control of your email?

Thanks for that site. pretty handy. I am feeling sick to my stomach right now as I am sifting through old websites that may have some form of my old password/user combo. I have some kind of eery feeling that this was one by someone who was a member, or I guess a smart enough person to be an enthusiast and talk-the-talk.

I sent my info to cacatman and he is going to forward to oakleyboss. I hope those who got taken have already called paypal to try to reverse the charges or dispute them.

dang, I was about to go to wind down and get ready for bed when I noticed I wasnt able to logon to my account or reset the password. then I did a google search for my username and oakleyforum and saw the warnings in all caps.

sheesh what a sucky night.

Dang I wanted to reply to some of the reactions/over reactions on the scam thread but they are in the exchange and I dont have access to it yet until @OakleyBoss clears my account.

but the fact of it is the problems they are mentioning are all things I used to do as a buyer/seller. I would post a few pics due to the limitation and when communicating with a seller, I would always offer up requests for pics. if for example they are wanting a certain angle or if I could get a pic in the sunlight.

I always thought that fair AND a way to verify if the item is really in hand. for lenses I even take pictures with the conversation showing through the lens.
