Share your scars and the story behind them

No, not Oakley Scars, but the injury / surgery ones.

68 stitches from a run in with an Atomic ARC racing ski in 2002. The only thing that stopped the outside of my calf from being sliced off, was my ski boot.

Never even felt it happen.

The wound was gaping and grisly. The ER Doc said it looked like I had been attacked by a shark.

I developed a nasty infection and my wife thought I was going to lose part of my leg.

Took 2 ski seasons to get my mojo back.

this past December had an heater leak carbon monoxide at a facility I was working at as punishment so my boss had me in a box an it filled got out to the bathroom passed out hit my head on the toilet on the way down got revived by the emts spent four hours in a hospital in louisville trust me I'm from California the nurses hated me got back on shift next day 😂😂😂 out 23 minutes most important two things my flak or my Glock never hit the ground 😂😂😂

Neither do his 🤔

Most non comp skiers don't. I normally stay in the 11-12 area. It's a trade off between not wanting to loose a ski at 50-60mph and not wanting more knee surgery if they binding doesn't release in a crash ;)

Losing a ski at that speed would not be a thing of beauty. :behindsofa:

I hit something in a pile of snow at Deer Valley, Utah, at a high speed, that ejected me from both bindings. My buddies said I looked like a javelin flying through the air, perfectly aerodynamic, arms by my side. Massive style points. ;)

Would have been a great photo, before the whiteout wipeout. :p

You lived to tell the tale, that’s the key!

When I was younger my brother and I raced bmx. I used to run odyssey bear trap and triple trap pedals and as a result my shins are absolutely full of scars.
