You did good I think! As of 12PM EST (+5 GMT) the watch is still running- albeit at the double tick pace. Also when sorting through watch stuff I found 2 extra links that I'll enclose along with a NIB capacitor. I had another TB that Ryan refinished for me in x metal and I neglected to send those links with the watch so you are welcome to them as your wrist may be larger than mine.
